The handle is made with a 1 1/4" fiberglass tube, with a 15/16" wood dowel inside for added support at the head. This heel was designed for dependability, and has become our most popular heel of choice. Made with an 11 gauge steel plate, measuring 6" x 11", this heel covers and reinforces nearly 80% of the spade.
